Hi, I'm Sydney!

I’m a mixed-media artist and speech pathology student! Whether I’m supporting speech therapy or cutting a video, I love to connect through story.

My Work

Comics

Polka Dots & Steel Toe Shoes tells the story of how I found my first job in France. Creating this comic was cathartic, and I will forever applaud retail workers.

When I can’t sleep at night I wish I could just roll out of bed and get personalized comfort from a 24/7 convenience store. If only it was that easy…

The Italian Canadian Archives Project preserves Italian roots nationwide, and I had the pleasure of designing the website for their first digital archive!

Secularism on the Move is a research project looking into the influence of secular law in the francophone world. I make cover art, posters, and newsletters to bring it exposure.

Paths to Polaris is a narrative personality quiz I wrote, coded and illustrated to exhibit in Solarium X Lunarium 2025.

Tune to Talk is a prototype for a web-based, music therapy game intended to help those with aphasia improve their communication.

“Tea, Please” is a series of digital illustrations I created and transformed into screenprints.

“destination:” portrays a fantastical train ride made with a projector, an iPhone, and the power of editing.

“Memoryscape” is a 3D animated short made in Maya, honoring my favorite 2D animation- Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

“ahoj” is an original short film about a son that leaves his estranged father a voicemail while visiting his hometown.

What is CogSci?

It’s the interdisciplinary study of the mind.

CogSci blends psychology, philosophy, linguistics, neuroscience, anthropology, and artificial intelligence, to try and solve the age-old mystery of how the human mind works and how we can replicate it.

At first glance, this may seem unrelated to art. But such diverse studies have only fueled my creativity and given me food for thought in every aspect of my artistic practice, from ideation to research to production.
